National Health Benefits Corporation, NHBC, was founded in 1987 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as a sales office in Atlanta, Georgia. NHBC’s clients include Third Party Administrators, insurance companies, health maintenance organizations and self-funded employer groups, among others. These clients are located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam and represent millions of covered lives. NHBC maintains contractual relationships with four national networks and critical regional networks. NHBC manages network relationships for clients, offering the best networks in terms of depth of discounts and breadth of coverage (ensuring member satisfaction), and reprices healthcare claims to maximize savings.
NHBC offers several product lines to meet our clients’ unique needs. Clients may contract for the Total Savings Solutions product, a single product, or a combination of products. The Primary Savings – Network Management program is NHBC’s logoed, in-network, in-area product. The Expanded Savings – National Access program is a logoed, in-network, out-of-area program utilized when the member is away from home for any reason. NHBC’s Immediate Savings – PPO Repricing and Immediate Savings – Enhanced Negotiations products are non-logoed, out-of-network programs designed to provide savings on previously non-discounted claims.
In the summer of 2009, NHBC underwent a systems conversion. NHBC’s unique ability to customize network access is a result of NHBC’s proprietary repricing engine, ProPoint. A team of developers produced the sophisticated ProPoint system allowing NHBC to increase its claims processing volume by 1000% while increasing accuracy and decreasing turn-around-time.
